In 1876, Eduard Sacher founded the Hotel Sacher in Vienna. He was
the son of the creator of the Original Sacher-Torte, a unique chocolate
cake. Soon after its creation, the Sacher became a world famous
meeting point for politicians, artists and the aristocracy. The
hotel is located close to the pedestrian shopping area Kärtnerstraße,
opposite the Opera House and a step away from St. Stephen's Cathedral,
the Hofburg the Hofburg and the elegant Ringstraße, a road
which boasts Vienna’s major sites, like the Burgtheater and
the City Hall.
