Hiking in the beautiful mountains of Tyrol - from Garmisch Partenkirchen, Bavarian host of Winter Olympics, across two mountain ranges of exceptional beauty and wilderness to the Austrian host of the Winter Olympics Innsbruck. [scroll down for tour details]

Tour Details:

Day 1: Individual trip to Garmisch Partenkirchen
Overnight in hotel with half board

Day 2: Balcony path in Höllentalklamm (hell valley gorge)
10,9 km, 5 hours walking time, 950 meter ascent (descent by cable car)
Gentle walking tour to the impressive Höllental gorge. Ascent to the gorge and to the mountain cabin Höllentalangerhütte with view to the highest mountain of Germany. You will continue your hike above the gorge to Kreuzberg. You will descent with the cable car. Overnight in hotel with half board

Day 3: Up and about in Wetterstein Massif
9,5 km, 4,5 hours walking time, 1.500 ascent.
In the beginning of the day you walk through another gorge to the foot of Wetterstein Massif. Steep climb until you reach “Kings Path” to Castle Schachen. The last stage to the mountain cabin where you overnight. No luggage transfer on this day.

Day 4: Sunrise in the mountains
17,9 km, 7,5 hours walking time, 910 meters upwards and 1.820 meters downwards (bus transfer to shorten the tour).
In the morning you walk down into Leutasch valley and then comfortably to Scharnitz. At first a rocky landscape and later on through a little valley you will never tire of the beautiful surroundings. In the end of the day again a wild and idyllic gorge you will overnight in hotel with half board.

Day 5: At the spring of river Isar and into Karwendel mountains
5,6 or 19 km, 2,5 or 5 hours to walk, 550 or 850 meters ascent (the longer distance if you choose not to take the transfer)
Transfer deep into Karwendel valley. Comfortable walk to Halleranger alpine pasture that you will reach after about 2 hours. Enjoy the day, relax or walk up to Sunntiger Spitze. Overnight in very comfortable mountain cabin with half board and luggage transfer.

Day 6: Summits of Karwendel
Sunntiger Spitze: 4, 6km, 3,5 hours 700 meters up and down
Reps: 4 km, 2,5 hours, 400 meters up and down

You can choose between a numbers of summits. According to your mountain-skills your host can recommend the best one for you. Overnight in very comfortable mountain cabin with half board and luggage transfer.

Day 7: Across Karwendel to Innsbruck
12,2 km, 6 hours walking, 1.150 meters upwards and 720 meters downwards.
A marvellous balcony path brings you across several ridges to the famous Nordkette of Innsbruck. A short but steep ascent to the summit station of Hafelekar. You will take the cable car to Innsbruck.
